The following is dialogue from this morning. This all stems from my daughter's most recent TV program of choice "The Wonder Pets." And although I do celebrate the fact that it teaches compassion for animals, I do not like the Pets' diction. Also, I get that we are supposed to teach our children to accept all abnormalities. Although, when the program boasts that it illustrates phonological awareness, I think speech teachers are sobbing as the "serious" problem at hand is occurring.
LF: Are you crazy or something?
Me: You know what, I think you need to stop watching the WP. I do not like that show.
LF: You don't have to watch it mom, all you have to do is turn your head when it's on and then you won't see it.
Me: Well maybe we just will not watch it at all.
LF: Or maybe I could watch and you could turn you head and not watch.
Me: BLURG!!
Oh and her new found joy in life...Talking back to me!
Any help would be appreciated. We are getting in shouting matches everyday.

It just gets worse. Sometimes I feel like a 13 year old has infiltrated O's body and I have no idea how to handle it....
I do think, however, that somewhere our mothers are laughing....
