Man vs. Wild

The show Man vs. Wild on Discovery...ahhhh. That's a screaming ahh, not a refreshing one. I do not consider myself an activist. I'm kind of a wanna be though. I can not figure this guy out. More importantly I can not figure out why PETA has not caught on to this show. Bear tries to survive in the wild for a certain period of time. He kills animals and eats them for the sake of TV. Literally he bites live things in half and eats them. It's absolutely repulsive. He actually drank his own urine and squeezed elephant poo so he could drink the moisture. He stuck his head in a massive bee hive to get about a teaspoon of honey. And then had to walk around in the middle of the desert with his head so swollen he could not see out of his eyes. He keeps a picture of his wife and sons in his boot and says it gets him through the hard times. Does he realize that he does not have to be out in the desert eating day old camel meat that has been baking in the sun for a day? I hate him. Hub loves this show. I hope that he gets the runs from every needless stupid act that he executes.

My Boys Are Coming Back To Me...

Mark your calender...

Turn off your phone ringer...

Take a mid day nap...

Entourage returns on Sunday, September 7th, on HBO at 10pm.

Oh how I missed my boys. It's been way too long. (No thanks to the writers strike.)

The premise is a kid from Queens makes it big in Hollywood and his lifelong friends are his posse. They are a group of goodhearted guys who just want to have a good time and make mad amounts of money. They look out for each other and torment each other at the same time.

The only bad point...it is only 30 minutes.

On Complaining...

Okay. I'm not going to complain. I'm going to confess. I used to be a SPNK who complained about being tired.

While in xray school, which is a 2 year program, 8-4 everyday, summers and all, I worked at Ground Round. (this is where I met my hub) And of course this was when I turned 21. I partied...alot. We would go to school, go to work, go to Nippers (a dive, I'll admit) close it and get up and do it all over again.

I'm sure I was highly annoying to all the new parents that I worked with at the hospital. And I'm pretty sure if blogging was around they would have put me number one on the list for annoying SPNK's.

Mmmmm....

So the other day, LF and I decided to make brownies. Not just any brownies though, the Jessica Seinfeld brownies. To those who are not familiar she is Jerry Seinfeld's wife. She created a book called Deceptively Delicious. The book contains recipes to trick your family into eating vegetables. That is...hiding them within other yummy dishes. Great concept right?

My mom purchased the book for me in hopes that I would convert our chicken finger lovin' daughter into a veggie lovin' daughter. I have made various things from this book. You have to puree vegetables and secretly add them. I've made sweet potato grilled cheese. I've added squash to macaroni and cheese. I even made beet pancakes. I really was on a kick for a while. Hub would come home and ask if dinner was spiked again.

The grilled cheese was good. You definitely can not tell that the squash was in the mac & cheese. The beet pancakes...well, if I could have gotten them to cook I think they would have been good. Something in the recipe prevented them from forming in the middle. Weird!

So, on to the desserts. I made doughnuts with pumpkin and sweet potato. They were about a 3 on a scale of 10. And now the brownies coprised of pureed carrots and spinach. Oprah described these little treats as the best brownies she has ever tasted. If the last brownie that you consumed tasted like cardboard, these are definitely a step up. They taste like chocolate cardboard. Not great.

Okay so in review. Jessica has something here, nutritious meals, extra vegetables, yummy dishes. I will still trick my family with squash infused mac & cheese. I will make the chili again. Very tasty. I will dip my chicken fingers in pureed broccoli before I fry. Actually every meal I've made has been delicious. If you are looking to change the way your family eats this is a great way. But stay clear of the desserts. Not worth the time it takes to puree the veggies.

BTW...

I really do not think she has Hand, Foot and Mouth disease. If she does it's a very mild case. I think she has a cold. Which she probably got from a germy kid at the birthday party.

My Day So Far....part 3

My hubby just called. The heating pad is for a family of baby birds that he is bringing home for us to "raise". Great more things to take care of and clean up after.

Four...

I forgot to mention my new found hobby. Golfing. Well it's not really new. I started last year and then abruptly stopped due to my bun in the oven. And now that the bun is baked and thanks to Missy, who has been taking lessons and went golfing with Monk for the first time on Saturday, I actually made it to a course on Sunday. I did not do as well as I thought I would , but I did better then my Golfer Hubby expected. So I guess I'll take it. I have only been to the driving range twice so far this year. And I only missed the ball once. Very good for me.

So yes now I can understand why there is a need to stop at the Clubhouse bar for a nice cold beer after the game. But to my GH this does not give you permission yet. Maybe next year when our little C-man is older. You can strap him to your bag and take him with you. And then you can stop at the bar after 18 holes.
This is my Adam Scott! I love him!

Jealous...

I have a confession. I am jealous of everyone else's blogs. Especially my sister's-Real Women of Genius. I am highly entertained and somewhat more informed because of the research other people are able to accomplish. I have no time to research for my blog. I barely get things posted everyday. My information comes from my two year old. Who now has added the word "Duh" to her vocabulary. Where did she learn this? Her mother.

So thank you my fellow bloggers for making me keep up with your creative writings. When my babies get a little older, and when I don't feel guilty about blogging instead of reading to my daughter...LOOK OUT!! My creativity will also shine...I hope.

Quick Draw

I wish I had the time to text all day. The winner was awarded $50,000. I'm working like a dog, and some little pinhead just won $50,000 texting. And people wonder what is wrong with the world.

FLIPPING OUT

I'm am newly possessed by the reality TV show Flipping Out. It might be that there is nothing on Prime Time TV this summer. My DVR is filled to the brim with Dora the Explorer, Upside Down Show, Diego, and my shows, Flipping Out, My Life on the D List and Tori and Dean. I'm so bored with TV that I'm actually mad after I watch these shows because I have to wait another whole week for the next episode.

So if you are bored with regular TV too, Flipping Out is sure to cure. I am an anal person. About some things. I am a little messy...i.e. leaving my brassieres all over the house. Oh and I also leave my shoes, flipflops what have you, all over. Jeff Lewis is A-N-A-L. Just listen to how he orders a drink. You will have to watch the show after this.

Unfinished Business...

Okay. I have a ton of half written blogs. I keep starting them and I want to add things later and never do. They're coming. I promise.

My Favorite Commercials

My fellow mommy blogger onemaidamilking has had an obsession with the Jimmy Dean commercials. I love them also. But the one that commercial that I never tire of is free credit report .com. You can't help but to bob your head along with the old lady eating.

If you want to feel pretty..

Thanks to the bride-to-be Megan.
I instantly felt prettier after watching this video.
